A Wiki / Blog Hybrid

The first beta for 1.7 has just been made available for download. Among the features currently available in the new series are Image Thumbnails, One Click Revert, and XML Export. There have also been performance changes that reduces the processing time of each request and the size of each file served. More admin control has also been implemented over user groups and namespaces.

1.7b1 is the first of at least 3 beta releases.

As promised, WikyBlog 1.6 was released today and is available for Download from SourceForge.net. A highlight of the new features includes the attachment namespace, improved plugin handling, improved javascript enhancements and new blog preferences.

Version 1.6 is up and running here at WikyBlog.com. It hasn't been released yet but should be out tomorrow morning. The new version has been tested on a number of different servers using all the major web browsers and everything seems to be running smooth. Upgrading WikyBlog.com is the final test before release and I encourage everyone to try out the new attachment functions (for .gif, .png, .pdf etc).

Version 1.6b3 was made available for download today and will be the last beta release for the 1.6 branch. 1.6b3 is a very stable release and there should be minimal delays before version 1.6 is available.

I am very happy to announce the introduction of Stagepaper by corepressed.com. Stagepaper is a service, similar to WordPress.com, that offers free blog accounts to anyone on the net. These aren't just any other blog accounts though, they're wiki-blog hybrids powered by nothing less that the WikyBlog software.
