attachments in link list

I wanted to have a link to a PDF file in the link list but it wasn't possible to add the URL of the attachment itself because the URL includes an & which gets translated to & at some point. I eventually had to put the file elsewhere on the server and add an external link. So, some way to add attached files to the link list would be nice.

I agree, it would be nice if PDF files could integrate more with the interface. Unfortunately, there are some concerns about the security involved with PDF files as well as the performance requirements and universal support. Ultimately, I think the ideal solution would be to parse PDF files into wiki or HTML syntax as they're uploaded. Not wanting to lead you, I should note there are a number of other pieces of WikyBlog being developed and it might be some time before different PDF handling is introduced (unless someone wants to take this on?). --Josh

more tightly integrated PDFs

I'm using the Attach: feature and a number of the attachments are PDFs. Currently, these get downloaded and opened in a separate app. I made a little hack so they'd display in the browser, but it would be great to have these more tightly integrated--e.g., opening their own tab with the PDF in an iframe.

help! cookie error prevents new pages

Comment :: EditModified: 11 Apr 2008, 19:18Created: 10 Mar 2008, 14:17

I just installed wiky blog and I can't post anything or login because I keep getting this error: "Warning Cookies are required to continue. Refresh if you have cookies enabled." I have cookies enabled and I refresh and it won't let me do anything!

Thank you for reporting this, I had a little trouble figuring out the problem at first but I believe I've found the problem... is the url for your site something like http://something versus http://something.com (note the .com on the second example). Cookies, as you were experiencing, weren't being set correctly for urls similar to the first example. The problem has been fixed and will be included in the next release. You can make an immediate fix by replacing the file /include/tool/session.php with this updated file.

email verification during sign-up

Could someone please tell me how can I enable email verification during sign-up?

This is currently not a feature available in WikyBlog and would have to be developed. How urgently do you need it? --Josh
Not a problem then, I don't need it that urgently. How further down is this feature in your list of priorities? --Sachin
It won't make it in Version 1.6, which I'm hoping to get out on Wed. But it could easily make it in the first update to 1.6. Here's what I'm picturing:
