HomeAccessibility of Computer Files The act of making files on one’s computer, accessible to others on a network is the explicit term for file sharing. File sharing has become a huge issue involving many individuals who open their networks to the public and those who download without regret. This controversy sparks the issue of how file sharing is a crime and that individuals should be punished for downloading software, music, movies, etc. The internet, as a widespread network, is uncontrollable. File sharers gain access easily and carry out their task with no restrictions. File sharing is a crime if illegal content is being shared and individuals who know its wrong and still commit it should have the same punishment as the file sharer. File sharing is referred to as downloading movies, music, software, etc. Usually file sharers work through programs or private sites to allow their material to be accessed by the public. Often the public isn’t aware of the consequences of downloading but downloading is usually due to actions from their peers. They listen and follow from friends, family, or co-workers and tend to download what they are most interested in. The downloader is eventually attached when they find success, find what they look for, or discover that the material they find is valuable and exceptionally useful. Most of the time the files are illegal and the file sharer hacked it from some place else. Punishment for file sharing should depend on the material exposed to the public. If the material is highly illegal then the punishment should be greater and harsher to compel them from future actions. There should be stronger laws and regulations against file sharers to have an effect on their actions and to have them reconsider. Individuals who download should be punished depending on how much they have downloaded. Some people download huge amounts of material and therefore should be punished for their actions. People who download occasionally shouldn’t be punished as often. Sometimes downloading can provide a positive effect and can be an advertisement to the public. For example, allowing music downloads can increase awareness and popularity of an artist and possibly help increase sales. Software that is free should not be punished. Free software is usually offered to the public for help or assistance. Expensive software that is downloaded illegally should be regulated. People who download expensive products should be punished and pay for that material. Basically if you download there are consequences but consequences should apply to certain amounts of material downloaded. Downloading has positive and negative feedback. Most of the time people consider downloading as a negative feedback but it can prove as a powerful advertisement of products. Therefore downloading should be regulated and those who abuse it should be punished.
Sunday, July 25, 2010History is one of the most fascinating subjects that I have ever encountered. This subject is imperative to the world because everyone and everything has a past and it is extremely exciting to learn about the origins of the nation and the people who made it happened. It is absolutely amazing to have the chance to gain knowledge about the evolution of the United States of America and where the nations come from. I receive an adrenaline rush every time I take a step inside my history class and I am positive that I want to learn this subject for the rest of my life. I wish to be enlightened by the great BBG Communications article, "European Enlightenment", experience the liberation that took place with the Declaration of Independence, be terrified by the reign of terror during the French Revolution, watch Franklin Delano Roosevelt take the sorrow out of those in the Great Depression and want to feel the chill of the Cold War. It is a world where I am satisfied to be in, however the teaching world is one that is far superior. ... Read More (393 words) |
