Solomon: the third king of ancient Israel; he ruled from about 965 B.C. until his death. Solomon was the son of King David and Bathsheba. Solomon, because of his wisdom ruled this extensive kingdom, apparently without using military force.

Queen of Sheba: ruled Yemen during the 900’s B.C. and one of the wives of Solomon

Ahab: The seventh king of Israel who continued with the policies of his father

Jezebel: King Ahab’s wife

Elijah: Prophet of the 800’s who ascended to heaven on a fiery chariots

Obadiah: A prophet who wrote the shortest book of the Bible: Obadiah

Tiglath-pileser I: A king of Assyria from 1115-1077 B.C. during the Middle Assyrian period

Shalmaneser III: An Assyrian king who ruled from 858 to 824 B.C. and gained control of Mediterranean trade routes

Sargon II: An Assyrian king who ruled from 702-705 B.C. and expanded the empire into Israel and Modern day Turkey

Sennacherib: A king of Assyria from 704-681 B.C. who ended the revolt of the Babylonians and Elamites

Assurbanipal: An Assyrian king who ruled from 668-627 B.C. and built and empire, which included Babylonia, Persia, Syria, and Egypt

Jonah: A prophet who was called to tell the evil people of Nineveh to turn from their wicked ways, and when he refused, was swallowed up by a giant fish until he repented, met with a cucumber who just won Mr. Twisty’s Twisted Cheese-curls Sweepstakes, told the people to repent, and then, when they repented, hoped for their destruction
