Thursday, June 8, 2006I was just in the middle of making the changes that will be included in the next release and felt like mentioning some of the more exciting ones. The most noticeable change will be the integration of a new difference engine. The new engine will be the same already in use by many other wiki sites and will provide users with more detailed information about differences. Currently our script will only give a line by line difference, whereas the new version will be able to focus in on differences within each line. For those users interested in the numbers at the bottom of each page, you'll probably notice pages being served a little bit faster. We've optimized our wiki parser to skip over portions of the script when it knows they aren't needed. Additionally, if the server supports it, HTML tidy can be used to make sure user posts have valid syntax... The next release should be available from SourceForge sometime next week. |
