My focus is on my growth as an artist, and everything I need to do to continue that development. As I have become older and more enthralled by the arts, the challenges are what excite me. Each character is different from the last, and analyzing them garners all my creativity. Every step leading up to that final performance is exhilarating. What I have learned is that theater is more than that final performance when the lights shine in your eyes, and hundreds of people wait to be transported to a new world. Theater has the power to inspire change, to speak to people, to shine a new light on issues. I want to be a part of that change, and I am willing to put all of my energy into contributing to something so great and powerful. Theater has the ability to inspire change in people.

My dream is to open a performing arts center for children, and to direct children’s theater. In order for me to be a director, I need to learn everything there is to know about my craft. I want to learn this from the best possible source, and as a result of my research on colleges, I have found that the University of Miami is the best fit for me. I want to be an expert at my craft. Attending the school of the arts is not necessarily going to make me an expert quite yet, but it is a step in the right direction. My dream is to learn as much as possible and pass it on to others. I want to teach, I want to direct, and in order for me to do so I have to be taught. I am willing to push myself as hard as necessary to reach my goals, and I am ready for anything that is thrown at me. I am like a sponge, absorbing every comment that is made to me and then trying to incorporate it into my own system. Of course I am not perfect, and I am sure to make mistakes along the way, but I am eager to learn especially from my mistakes. I want to be the best I can be, and am willing to do what I need to do to accomplish that and make my dreams come true.
