Collaborative Editing

At the core of a wiki application is the ability to collaborate. The default settings for WikyBlog allow anyone to create and edit files creating an optimal environment for collaboration. Optionally, permissions can be assigned to types of files and specific files to limit collaboration to sets of users for a more controlled environment.

Easily Edited

To facilitate the editing process and connect a community of users, wiki files can easily be edited using a web browser. With this method, anyone who can view the file can just as easily contribute!

History

When saving changes to a file with the WikyBlog software, a "history" of the file is also created. Changes that have been made are saved and can be easily undone.

WikyBlog Saves Differences

We don't save each complete version of a file. To save space, we only save the most recent version of a file and the differences between it and the previous versions. When a change is made to a file, the software finds the areas of the file that have changed, saves a list of these changes, then overwrites the current version with the new content.

History Managment

To help manage hard drive space, users and administrators can limit the number of version differences that will be saved for files. After the limit is reached for a file, each further change will delete the oldest version difference.

Wiki Markup

The markup implemented by WikyBlog was chosen for its simplicity, its human readable quality and large existing user base. Our markup is nearly identical to that used by MediaWiki powered websites and most MediaWiki users won't notice the slight differences that exist.
