To Take Music Lessons with Ms. Wunsch

Information about Music Lessons with Ms. Wunsch

Lessons are limited and are on an appointment-only basis with the instructor's prior approval. Students must pass a preliminary interview (not audition) to determine their readiness for and commitment to lessons.

Lessons are charged per half-hour slot, payable one month in advance. One month's notice is required to terminate lessons, and there is a three-month minimum, payable in advance by three monthly postdated checks. Discounts may be given as follows : 10% for each referral student that completes their three-month minimum, for as long as both continue to take lessons; 20% for second and succeeding immediate family members.

Lessons are held at Ms. Wunsch's home in Carrollton, Texas (convenient to Carrollton, Farmer's Branch, Addison, North Dallas, Little Elm, and Richardson), Monday through Thursday, 2-6 p.m. Lessons will be scheduled and occur at the same time each week. There are no walk-in lessons. Lessons cancelled because of sudden illness, weather, gridlock, or other reason may be rescheduled at no charge at the teacher's discretion. Lessons missed for foreseeable reasons will not be rescheduled.

I do not give lessons on weekends or in the evenings. I am a full-time musician; evenings are taken up with rehearsals and weekends are taken up with performances. I do not go to people's houses because students do not learn as quickly in their own homes as they do at a studio. I have observed this over more than twenty years, and you do not get your money's worth taking lessons in your home.

Students will need access to the Internet to download and print their sheet music, or may order copies to be printed for three cents per page. Music ordered to be printed will be available for pickup at the next lesson. Students will need to buy music only in the rarest of cases.

Piano students must have access to a piano. Electronic keyboards are a temporary measure and lessons will not be productive with an electronic keyboard, no matter how full-featured or expensive. The piano is a mechanical instrument and no electronic device can sufficiently reproduce the feel or action of a mechanical device. Please read About Piano Lessons for more information.

Voice students are encouraged to have a piano or keyboard available but there are other alternatives. Please read About Voice Lessons for more information.

All students are expected to learn the basics of music theory, music history and sightreading. Voice students are encouraged to learn foreign languages.

College-bound students may request help on applying to schools, scholarships, college preparatory work, and the like. This service is available on a first-come, first-serve basis at no charge. Former students may also request help at no charge.

I'm always looking for better ways to do this, so for now, prospective and current students please book your lessons here (this is a free service). New students will need to book a minimum of 13 lessons, current students book one month at a time.

If I am not in your area, I will travel to give one- or two-day master classes. Please contact me for details. Or you can look here: [http://www.training-classes.com/course hierarchy/Music music training seminars]
I am listed on Vocalist.org
