About Voice LessonsVoice lessons in my studio are different from other teachers' voice lessons. I teach students about the anatomy and physiology of their bodies in relation to voice production, and help train them in the ideal function of the complex of muscles surrounding voice production. From the ideal function, the ideal tone will emerge in as soon as the third lesson. It is the mastery of this ideal function that takes time, and that time is largely dependent on the student and his or her mastery of this complex of muscles. Our bodies give us immediate physical feedback when we produce sound, and I train students to interpret this feedback so that any faults in their technique are immediately apparent and the student is able to fix the fault without my intervention. This results in a vastly shortened course of study and students usually complete their training within 18 months. For this reason, I am able to train both speakers and singers in the preservation and maintenance of their voices, as well as helping them achieve melodious, stress-free and beautiful voices. Singers and speakers who are trained in this method rarely have the vocal problems that plague others: Jordin Sparks' vocal cord hemorrhage; Frederic Francois' indefinite hospital stay with supervised vocal rest; etc. Our bodies are designed to produce sound all day, every day, at any required volume, without strain. Students are not allowed to sing repertoire until they have mastered ideal tone throughout their ranges in order to avoid any possibility of injury to their vocal mechanism. Once that mastery is complete, students will be able to sing any piece of repertoire within their range easily. Once the student has mastered the control of the voice function, I teach sight-reading and interpretation of the various periods of music. Foreign-language materials are available and I can correct French, German, Italian and Czech accents. To find out more, book your initial interview at no charge now!
